Are You Being Treated for Low Thyroid, But Still Cannot Lose Weight

One of the most frustrating symptoms associated with low thyroid is weight gain. Although patients may have several symptoms associated with low thyroid, this is the one they often look most forward to resolving with treatment.

The inability to lose weight despite cutting down the amount you eat and exercising more may make other symptoms associated with low thyroid such as depression feel even worse. Unfortunately a lot of patients who are currently receiving treatment for low thyroid, still cannot lose weight -- no matter how much they diet or exercise.

The inability to lose weight is often the symptom that prompts patients to seek out low thyroid treatment with their primary care physician. Unfortunately, the "weight loss problem" isn't always fixed. In fact, it's very common to still have the problem even when your physician confirms your thyroid treatment"is working and your thyroid is fine.

If you're in this situation, ask your physician why you are still having difficulty losing weight. If the answer is, "You just need to eat less," or "You need to exercise more," you should consider other options...chances are, you are already doing so.

If if you hear these answers, they're simply the wrong answers and will not get you the solutions you need.

The most common reason why patients cannot lose weight, even when being treated for low thyroid is...something is happening within and underlying to cause the problem. Something's been missed in your diagnosis and treatment.

There's a twisted web of things that go wrong when your thyroid isn't working properly, and it takes deep investigation to determine how this is causing your inability to lose weight.

When looking for solutions, choose a practitioner or physician who will do the deep evaluation that's necessary to understand why you can't lose weight or may even be putting on more weight despite low thyroid treatment. Whom you choose should do blood work, but other comprehensive tests as well, such as saliva and food allergy testing.

This is the only way this symptom can be resolved and a successful treatment plan can be developed, as dieting and exercising more, simply cannot correct the reasons for why this is happening.
